“Glacial Microtopographies” is an ongoing project capturing ephemeral ice formations along the Icelandic shoreline—remnants of glaciers’ slow retreat. Through close observation of fractured surfaces, fluid reflections, and crystalline textures, the series reveals nature as both creator and subject. Inspired by Friedrich Schelling’s philosophy, the work contemplates the transient beauty of ice, the forces shaping our environment, and the intersection of landscape and time. As glaciers shrink, they reshape topographies, disrupt ecosystems, and accelerate rising sea levels, highlighting the fragile balance between climate and landscape.
